Who Needs Audited Financial Statements for UAE Corporate Tax?
October 12, 2026

Under Ministerial Decision No. 82 of 2023, two categories of taxable persons must prepare and maintain audited financial statements for Corporate Tax purposes:

  1. Businesses with revenue exceeding AED 50 million in the relevant tax period.
  2. All Qualifying Free Zone Persons, regardless of revenue.

Free Zone businesses that want to keep the 0% Corporate Tax rate on qualifying income need audited accounts. Without them, they risk losing that benefit.

Tips:

  • Plan your audit early, well ahead of the filing deadline, which is 9 months after the end of your tax period.
  • Keep your accounting records organised throughout the year.
  • Check whether your business falls into either category every tax period.
